The Mosaic web browser was developed by Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina in 1993 at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It was one of the first web browsers to provide a graphical interface, making the World Wide Web more accessible to the general public.
