    Amjad Islam Amjad (04 August 1944 to 10 February 2023) was a well-known Pakistani poet and writer. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan. His family originally belonged to Sialkot. He was one of Pakistan’s most celebrated Urdu poets and has won numerous awards for his literary contributions.
    Amjad Islam Amjad started his career as a lecturer in Govt. M.A.O College, Lahore, but soon switched to writing. He has written several books of poetry, including “Fishaar,” “Satwaan Dar,” and “Barzakh.” His poetry reflects a deep understanding of human emotions and the complexities of life. His work has been widely praised for its simplicity and directness.
    Apart from poetry, he has also written for television and films, including the iconic Pakistani drama series “Waris.” He has received numerous awards for his contributions to literature, including Sitara-i-Imtiaz and the prestigious Pride of Performance award from the Government of Pakistan.
